J’ai souhaité par cette création réunir 2 idées qui sont importantes pour moi. Tout d’abord, la place de la femme dans l’univers du foot et son manque de représentation. Pour cela j’ai souhaité m’approprier un objet du quotidien – le babyfoot – qui a une connotation masculine de part ses figurines. Or il n’y a pas de raison que ce jeu ne représente que des hommes, les femmes y ont tout autant accès et devrait pouvoir y être représentées ! Ensuite le babyfoot m’ait apparue le bon symbole pour se rappeler que le foot est avant tout un jeu accessible à toutes et tous, partout dans le monde, et qui rassemble à tout âge. Une image conviviale loin des clivages des montages financiers du foot masculin qui peuvent parfois ternir l’image de ce sport. J’ai représenté toutes les équipes internationales participant à la compétition, un symbole d’unité et qui prouve encore une fois que le foot n’a pas de barrières et que les femmes du monde entier sont appelées à y participer.

I wanted this creation to bring together two ideas that are important to me. First, the place of women in the world of football and its lack of representation. For that I wanted to appropriate a daily object – the babyfoot – which has a masculine connotation of his figurines. But there is no reason that this game represents only men, women have just as much access and should be able to be represented! Then the babyfoot appeared to me the right symbol to remember that football is above all a game accessible to everyone around the world, and that brings together at any age. A friendly image far from the cleavages of financial montages of men’s football that can sometimes tarnish the image of the sport. I represented all the international teams participating in the competition, a symbol of unity and once again proving that football has no barriers and that women around the world are invited to participate.
